Updates/Planning/HaMO’ton, You Beauty!
I’ve been busy with background stuff in order to make this a huge success so I haven’t had a chance to update you all in a while. There have been emails sent back and forth, phones calls, posters being worked on! It’s been a busy few weeks, but the cogs are well and truly in motion now. Exciting? YES! Terrfying? Possibly! but mainly I’m excited.
Hamilton has grabbed the bull by the horns with early stage posters being leaked by Tweeps throughout the city. That is unreal! I have said from the day I decided to do this that it will be as much my success as it will be those on Twitter, and can be as big as we want it to be. The support so far has been incredible!
Look what popped up at the Hamilton Tweetup on Friday night.
Another spotting in a Hamilton Mall…
The appearance of these and also unconfirmed sightings in WINTEC have sparked some Wellington Tweeters to get their thinking caps on. I look forward to seeing how this City rivalry unfolds!
Some more planning stuff…
In my last entry, I asked for you to post where you are so I can begin plotting a map. Here’s how we are looking at the moment.
As you can see from the mo’s on the map, I will be starting in Alexandra/Queenstown, dropping down to Invercargill and heading up the coast of the South Island. From there I will cross over into Wellington and attack the North Island (that plan is still in progress).
Ideas you came up with…
I love that you are all as crazy as me. Here are some of the ideas that have been suggested already:
- A twitter tattoo of some sort – Well.. Uhm.. Maybe.. in Wellington.. I’ll get back to you on that.
- Moon TVs “That Guy” speed cooking in the van.
- Challenge Jimi who liloed the Waikato this year in a lilo event.
- Tim Shadbolt recently called out social media as “a fad”, so maybe pop into to see Tim.
I can’t list them all because I’d like to give you a few suprises. I will try my best to make anything that is suggested happen!
To any and everyone who has helped me get it to this stage, THANK YOU! for dealing with my messages at all hours, refining crazy ideas… It’s been a hell of an amazing ride so far and I look forward to this giant adventure unfolding! So let’s keep this all rolling, keep your ideas and suggestions coming.

Great to see The Tron gearing up and spreading the love for the Twit on Tour. Awesome cause and looking like a great event. Can’t wait
